After being open for a couple of weeks, we hope that everyone is enjoying our amazing slice of paradise!!
However, we do want to take this time to remind everyone that the pool is the responsibility of the entire neighborhood. If things break, they stay broken until the neighborhood can come up with the money to fix them.
We are very fortunate in Kilkenny Farms. We have an amazing group of people on our pool board who are handy, creative, willing, and able to fix everything that has come up so far. Plus, they've kept it at an inexpensive DIY cost. But the board is volunteer work and the people on the board have full-time jobs and families, so spending time at the pool to fix things isn't convenient.
Please respect the property at the pool. We have noticed an abundance of children and teens hanging from or pulling on the basketball hoops. This all causes them damage, we on the pool board have to fix them and the entire neighborhood has to pay for them.
Additionally, there was an incident where a child stood on the rim and used it to jump into the pool. The hoops are NOT diving boards and the pools are NOT deep enough for that to occur safely! A kid jumping off the basketball hoops could cause life-altering damage to that kid, their family, and anyone who might witness it. It’s not solely a monetary thing but a safety issue as well.
In addition to the basketball hoops, there has been a lot of roughhousing on the edge of the pools. Kids fighting, trying to push each other in. There have also been multiple incidents where children are playing on handicap-accessible chairs.
Thankfully no incidents have turned serious, yet - But there are going to continue to be a lot more people at the pool this season than in prior years. So, it is even more important that everyone is treating the property as if it were their own. Also, parents need to be watching and correcting the unfavorable activities of their children while at the pool.
Please read and fully understand YOUR RESPONSIBILITY while at the pool.
